The Space Drive system
SPACE DRIVE II is a coordinated, adaptive system made up of hardware and software that incorporates a completely new safety concept. It is individually adjustable to an extremely wide range of safety-related applications in the automotive industry, from drive-by-wire solutions in disability vehicles through to the control of special-purpose and commercial vehicles. Furthermore, the redundant drive-by-wire technology from Paravan forms the basis for safe autonomous and semi-autonomous driving. Space Drive II is certified in accordance with the highest safety standards (ISO 26262 ASIL D) and is manufactured in line with the highest quality standards (IPC 600 A Class 3).
High-tech product solutions made by Paravan Industry
The basis of our extensive product portfolio is our fail-safe and road-approved driving and steering system Space Drive II – an adaptive drive-by-wire or steer-by-wire system that digitally controls acceleration, braking and steering in the vehicle. Via various interfaces such as CAN, LIN and FlexRay, it enables access to vehicle electronics already in a number of vehicle models. In addition to the absolutely fail-safe (fail-operational) control of acceleration and brakes (longitudinal guidance), the system also offers fail-safe control of steering (lateral guidance) via special input devices such as joysticks. Control can also take place on other digital or analogue channels. Using special Wi-Fi interfaces, we at Paravan are already able to drive via a specially developed smartphone app. Communication with state-of-the-art sensors (radar, optics, GPS) is also possible at any time with our Space Drive system. On this basis, we can offer highly individual software and hardware solutions for complex industrial applications such as technology for semi-automated or fully automated driving – in the process of which we draw on 20 years of experience in drive-by-wire technology. Over 5000 systems are already in use, covering millions of kilometres around the world in the disabled mobility sector.
Space Drive II features multiple safety systems to ensure fail-safe system operation and is certified in accordance with the highest safety standards (ISO 26262 ASIL D). It is manufactured in line with the highest quality standards (IPC 600 A, Class 3). In addition, the system is road-approved in accordance with ECE R 10, ECE R 13 and ECE R 79.
